Addresses an issue with Service Pack 7, whereby SP7 did not support unattended Active Directory deployments. The following issues have been addressed in Service Pack 7: 1. Addresses the issue that under certain circumstances, there was a problem with a user not being able to authenticate via CheckPoint VPN software using the BioLogon VPN plugin. 2. Addresses the issue with previous versions of BioLogon that caused the legal notice configured through Windows not to be displayed prior to a user login. The text for this notice can be stored under one of the following two registry keys: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Currentversion\policies\system HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Currentversion\Winlogon This Hot Fix will assure that the legal notice text is displayed no matter which key it resides under 3. Limits the ability to modify BioLogon policy and user properties from a client workstation which has the Active Directory Admin Pack installed to only Domain Administrators. 4. Addresses performance issues on various network configurations. This HotFix should be installed if you see a tremendous slow down in the time it takes to authenticate in a client/server based BioLogon solution. 5. Addresses a system crash when using the BioLogon SDK and a user selects to hide the password prompt field. 6. Addresses an issue with Remote Administration software, where subsequent Ctl-Alt-Del key sequences allowed access to the workstation. 7. Addresses an issue where upon installing Windows 2003 SP1, BioLogon no longer functions and errors are posted to the event log. NOTE: In certain circumstances, Windows 2003 SP1 installations require additional configuration. If, after installing SP7a, a Windows 2003 SP1 installation continues to post errors to the event log and workstations can not connect to the server, follow these steps: a. Run dcomcnfg.exe b. Go to Component Services/Computers/My computer c. Select Properties and switch to COM Security tab. d. Go to Launch and Activation permissions and press Edit Defaults. e. Add Everyone to the list(if not there) and give it Remote Launch and Activation permissions. f. Go to Access permissions and press Edit Default g. Add Everyone to the list(if not there) and give it Local and Remote Access permissions 8. Addresses an application crash when using the BioLogon SDK and you are required or forced to change your password IMPORTANT NOTE: If you wish to uninstall BioLogon 3 SP7a Upgrade, and it was originally installed using GPO, you MUST uninstall using the same method. ===================================== Contact Information ===================================== If you have any questions or comments regarding this Service Pack, please contact our support department at: idxsupport@identix.com
