============================================================== BioLogon(R) 3.0 Service Pack 7a Hotfix 5 README File December 2006 (C)2000-2006 Identix, Incorporated All Rights Reserved. ============================================================== This is a software update which may be applied to computers with the following versions of BioLogon: - BioLogon 3 Service Pack 7a - If using Windows XP, please make sure you have upgraded to XP SP2 before installing Hot Fix 5. ================== RELEASE NOTES ================== This hotfix is a cumulative hot fix. It includes modifications made in Hot Fix 1, 2 3 and 4. In total, the hot fix addresses the follwoing issues: - Support for BTO 500 has been added to BioLogon 3. The files that are changed: --For Hot Fix 4 authpack.dll bioadm.cpl bioam.dll Biocore.dll biorm.dll BioSDK.dll BioSDKKLt.dll dfrsock.dll Itcreds.dll Itenroll.dll Itgina.dll ItlogonX.dll Itnet.dll --For Hot Fix 5 biocore.dll biorm.dll ItLogonX.dll Itenroll.dll BioSDKlt.dll The hotfix 5 places back up copies of the current files in: c:\Program Files\Identix\Biologon\SP7a\Hotfix\5\Backup When the hotfix is uninstalled, it copies the backup files to their original location. - Please note that if the hotfix is uninstalled, you MUST reboot your system. =================== INSTALLATION =================== = This hot fix 5 requires Finger Print Reader 4.5 installed on the system. = For computers with BioLogon 3 Service Pack 7a already installed 1. Log in to the target machine with administrative privileges 2. Launch the setup program for the hotfix 3. Reboot (NOTE: If you are installing this on a BioLogon Server that DOES NOT have the BioLogon Client (GINA) running on it, you can stop the Biometric Service prior to installation to avoid rebooting the server. Once the installation is complete in this case, simply restart the Biometric Service.) ================== Known Issues ================== 1) With windows XP (SP 1),restarting the system after the installation of Hot fix 5,user might get an error message "Access violation in module ntdll.dll".Ignore this message and continue,BioLogon will function properly after ignoring the error. 2) Select BioLogon properties, Select the Providers Tab, then select the Identix DFR-500 USB entry and then go to properties, there is a Reinitialize button ,if you click on with a DFR-500 it will give you an error “The system cannot reinitialize the fingerprint reader because the reader failed to respond". ====================== Contact Information ====================== If you have any questions or comments regarding this Service Pack, please contact our support department at: idxsupport@L1id.com
