Recent law enforcement legislation and sex offender registration policies require the capture of all types of images with a live scan device including tenprints, palms, rolls and writers’ edges. The TouchPrint™ Enhanced Definition 4800 is the first live scan capable of capturing all types of high-quality images with an innovative, single platen design. Our scanner has the smallest cubic footprint and lightest weight than any other palm scanner available today. The compact and lightweight TouchPrint ED 4800 has an IP65 ingress protection rated enclosure to prevent damage from dust, debris and water making it durable to withstand harsh conditions.

  • Single platen to capture all types of high-quality images: Advanced technologies such as Moisture Discriminating Optics™ ignore the effects of moisture blobs from sweaty prints and Enhanced Definition image technology are both available with the TouchPrint ED 4800. One field-replaceable platen is used to capture rolls, slaps, palms and writers’ edge images quickly.
  • Modular for tabletops or cabinets/kiosks: With both USB2.0 and FireWire IEEE 1394 (OHCI compliant) interfaces, the TouchPrint ED 4800 is flexible to accommodate various system configurations. It can be used as a standalone unit, or customers with a TouchPrint ED 3XXX series live scan system can pair the TouchPrint ED 4800 in a side-by-side, tabletop configuration to add the incremental capture of palm and writer’s edge. Also, cabinet and kiosk vendors can easily incorporate the TouchPrint ED 4800 scanner thanks to a small cubic footprint.
  • Easy operation: With real-time preview, an optional foot pedal and logically-placed dual scan and save buttons for both right and left handed operation, the TouchPrint ED 4800 has many features to ensure consistent, quality image capture and reduce variability between operators. The TouchPrint ED 4800 also has an ergonomically designed overhang for better grip and a carrying handle for easy transportation.
