FaceIt® Quality Assessment SDK
Ensuring high-quality enrollment for a better matching performance.
As a developer, your focus should be on application workflow and development, not trying to determine whether an image is suitable for computer-based recognition.
The FaceIt Quality Assessment SDK includes functionalities to capture and read images, find heads and faces in still or live images, perform image quality measures, and evaluate and generate Token Frontal Face Images and Full Frontal Face Images that conform to the ANSI/INCITS 385-2004 or ISO/IEC 19794-5-2005 standards.
Please Note:
The functionality of this SDK is built into the Multi-Biometric Capture Station.
COMPONENTS
- Face Finding and Quality Evaluation Library:
A Windows COM object designed to find faces in static images with 8-bit grayscale or 24-bit RGB. The quality parameters supported include: resolution, head cropping, position of face in the image, brightness, exposure, contrast, blurriness, glare, presence of glasses or other obstruction and pose estimation. Outputs Token and Full Frontal images. - Media Library:
A Windows COM object and an ActiveX control for image display and read/write/save. The ActiveX control contains a useful face marking display interface. - Standards Formatting Library:
Common C-language functions for formatting biometric data to ANSI and ISO standards formats and including:
- CBEFF header blocks for Patron formats A, C and ICAO
- Multi-part face, fingerprint and iris binary data blocks (BDBs) and compliant BDB content for the following ANSI and ISO standards:
- ANSI 378-2004 and ISO 19794-2-2005 fingerprint minutiae
- ANSI 379-2004, iris polar and rectilinear images
- ANSI 381-2004 and ISO 19794-4-2005, fingerprint images
- ANSI 385-2004 and ISO 19794-5-2005, face images
- Standard face, fingerprint and iris image and feature data in header blocks - Sample Application:
A sample face quality assessment applications Visual C++ is provided. This fully functional application can automatically evaluate a set of images and generate statistics on the different facial quality metrics.
All technology is encapsulated as C-language functions, COM libraries and ActiveX components for compatibility with Microsoft Visual C++, Microsoft Visual Basic and Microsoft C#. Compatible with Microsoft Video for Windows (VfW) capture systems. Supports frame capture from .avi and .mpeg files.
- Best all-around face recognition performer in the Facial Recognition Vendor Test (FRVT) 2006 sponsored by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Our algorithms scored at or near the top in every test including matching accuracy for 2D as well as 3D face recognition.
- FaceIt matching technology combines facial geometry and skin texture for higher accuracy
