Canadian Citizenship

Welcome to Canada! As you have been informed, Citizenship and Immigration Canada may require you to submit fingerprints in order to perform a criminal history record check. Instead of going to a police station or anywhere else that uses ink, L-1 can take your fingerprints using the latest in state-of-the-art digital fingerprint equipment that checks for high quality images and submits them to the RCMP electronically. By submitting your fingerprint records electronically you can receive your results in days instead of months. Faster results mean you start the process of applying for your citizenship more quickly.

Take advantage of L-1’s effective and proven service for citizenship and application compliance for any country at any of our Canadian locations. We can also take fingerprints for you for submission to other countries – our professional and accurate services will help make any immigration or emigration process quicker and easier.

What to Bring

You will need to bring two pieces of government issued identification with you to your fingerprinting session, at least one of which must be a government-issued photo ID, such as a passport, driver’s license, health card, citizenship card or immigration documents. If you have a letter or file number associated with your citizenship application please bring it with you to your appointment. Our flexible payment options include cash, major credit cards, debit or money order.

What to Expect

Your fingerprints will be taken by professionally trained fingerprint personnel and submitted electronically to the RCMP for processing. Our quick and professional fingepritning session will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.

What Happens Next

Once L-1 has been notified by the RCMP that they have received your prints we will receive no further communication from them about your file – see our Privacy Policy Here. You or your authorized representative can inquire about the status of your submission by contacting the RCMP Civil Fingerprinting Screening Services at 613-998-6362 or by visiting www.civilnps@rcmp-grc.gc.ca. The RCMP will mail the results of your police clearance to you directly as soon as they are available, typically within 72 hours if there is no criminal history.
