Job Description:
As a member of the Device Software Group, the developer will focus on developing a distributed framework supporting the needs of our biometric systems. When necessary, the developer will analyze and fix software defects. The developer will create and validate libraries in several environments, including desktop and embedded variants of Windows XP and Linux, and working primarily in C++, CLI/C++ and C#. Responsibilities will include designing, developing, testing, optimizing, documenting and maintaining these solutions.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for software design, implementation, testing, debugging, assurance testing and the creation or supervision of documentation using C++, CLI/C++, C# and other languages based on project needs.
  • Networking solutions, including TCP/IP, USB, SSL solutions.
  • Designing, developing and maintaining a distributed, compenent based framework.
  • Designing, testing, documenting and supporting APIs for core platform libraries.
  • Working on both embedded mobile device targets as well as workstation environments.
  • Uses code generators and innovative and advanced coding practices for optimization.
  • Working with Windows XP and Linux (including embedded varieties of these operating systems), and other systems based on project needs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Very strong technical talent including the capacity to understand, innovate and optimize at all layers (low level, high level, application, managed and unmanaged environments, embedded to work station environments, etc) and all types of problems (generators, networking, databases, distributed computing, concurrent programming, etc) of the software solution space.
  • Working on intellectually challenging and demanding problems in an aggressive development environment.
  • Works well in a team, goal oriented.
  • Understanding of the software development and project management process.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.

Qualifications, Education and Experience:

  • BS or equivalent in a technical field and a minimum of 1 year experience in a similar position, or a combination of education and experience that would enable performance of the full scope of the position.
