Job Summary:
Lead the mobile platform hardware engineering team to design and develop the next generation handheld biometrics collection, identification, and verification systems.
Essential Job Functions:
- Schedule tasks and goals to complete designs on time that meet all specifications.
- Design complex analog and digital circuitry.
- Perform detailed logic design, simulation, synthesis, and verification.
- Design firmware for FPGA, CPLD and DSP chips.
- Design and develop software (C, C++, C#, scripting languages) to improve the efficiency of the design tasks.
- Debug, evaluate, troubleshoot and test hardware designs.
- Develop diagnostic software and test fixtures to validate functionality.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Experience with VHDL/Verilog and FPGAs is a must.
- Knowledge of backend FPGA synthesis and simulation tools.
- Experience in developing High Speed circuit board designs (EMC and EMI mitigation).
- Experience in DFT and DFM issues and mitigation.
- Experience developing mobile device with embedded Linux and/or Windows OS.
- Working knowledge of programming and scripting languages (C, Perl, Skill, Ocean, etc.).
- Experience in imaging system design a plus.
Qualifications, Education and Experience:
- BS, MS, or equivalent in a technical field and a minimum of 8 years experience in a similar position, or a combination of education and experience that would enable performance of the full scope of the position.
- Experience leading a multi-discipline engineering team required.
