Officers and military personnel establishing checkpoints require fast and easy means of identifying subjects. The PIER™ 2.4 system packages iris technology in a rugged hand-held device to provide accurate, real-time identity information. Intuitive and easy-to-use, the PIER 2.4 handles both enrollment as well as matching right on the handheld unit and easily downloads information from a central database system with a simple PC connection.

  • Real-time identification: Matches an unknown individual against a database of millions with extremely high accuracy – within seconds.
  • High-capacity storage: Has onboard data capacity storage of up to 200,000 iris templates which allows for flexible in-field identifications

  • Incorporated into the Biometric Application Toolset (BAT), a multi-biometric security platform developed by the U.S. Army and being distributed to the Navy, Marines and other DOD and non-DOD agencies
