The Bioscrypt TWIC-Station™ meets the TWIC Reader Hardware and Card Application Specifications issued by the Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The TWIC-Station is one of the first fixed access TWIC readers capable of reading PIV biometrics – delivering multi-factor authentication in a flexible device that can read a wide range of secure government issued credentials aligned with the FIPS 201 standard including TWIC, PIV and CAC endpoint cards.
The Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) program is a Transportation Security Administration and U.S. Coast Guard initiative. The TWIC-Station™ helps U.S. ports and vessel operators meet the program goals for TWIC by providing an access control reader capable of reading a TWIC card and verifying the fingerprint of the cardholder to the biometric stored on the card.
